The International Ballet School has been in Colorado for seven years under the direction of Mark Carlson. Coaching by Carlson and his staff have consistently brought IBS students to 1st place wins at the Denver Ballet Guild competition (Denver Ballet Guild holds an annual competition that awards over $15,000 in cash prizes).
 
IBS teachers German Zamuel and Valentina Moukhanova were senior teachers at London's Royal Ballet School and are world class teachers with students dancing in many of the great ballet companies throughout the world. They have coached students for the prestigious Prix De Lausanne with six wins including two gold medals.
 
IBS students have been accepted to all of the major summer intensives, many with scholarships, including; San Francisco Ballet School, World Masters in Vail, Kirov Academy, American Ballet Theater School New York, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, North Carolina School of the Arts, Walnut Hill School, National Ballet of Canada School, Suzanne Farrell Intensive, Harid Academy, Boston Ballet School, School of American Ballet.
 
IBS offers three performance opportunities each year including The Nutcracker with professional sets, decor and 150 costumes. The Nutcracker has open auditions so that other children in the community can share the experience.
 
IBS has a pre-professional program where students enjoy individual attention from the most noteworthy faculty in Colorado.

MARK CARLSON
Studied with Paul Petroff (Principal Dancer of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo), Carlson danced professionally for over 20 years, performing solo and leading roles with the Royal Ballet of Flanders (Belgium), Les Grands Ballets Canadiens , Badische Statstheater in Germany, and Stora Teatern in Sweden.
Carlson has been Artistic Director of Western Chamber Ballet (Colorado), ballet master for OstgotaTeatern in Sweden, associate director of Colorado Ballet II, and company teacher for the Colorado Ballet. Mr. Carlson has taught for the California Ballet School, the American Ballet School, the Academie voor Klasiek Russische Ballet in Belgium, and Kursverksamheten Stockholms University in Sweden.

   
GERMAN ZAMUEL
German was a senior teacher at The Royal Ballet School in London for 11 years.. He studied at the Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy. Mr Zamuel was Principal Dancer and Choreographer of The Maliy Theatre of Opera and Ballet, St.Petersburg and was Professor of Choreography at the All Union College of Arts and Culture in St. Petersburg.
Mr. Zamuel has been a principal teacher at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School, director of Pttsburgh Ballet Theater II, and ballet teacher for the New York Conservatory of Dance. He has danced leading roles throughout he former Soviet Union, in England and the U.S. Mr. Zamuels students have won six medals in Prix de Lausanne including two Gold.
   

VALENTINA MOUKHANOVA (Zamuel)
Valentina is a graduate of the Vagonova Russian Ballet Academy. Ms Moukhanova was a senior teacher at The Royal Ballet School in London for 12 years. She danced as a principal dancer with the Maliy Theater of Opera and Ballet, as well as guest artist with the Kirov Ballet. Her roles include Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Giselle in Giselle, Nikia in Bayadere, Medora in Corsaire, Swanhilda in Coppelia, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Carmen in Carmen Suite, and Firebird in The Firebird. In 1980-1981 Ms Moukhanova received the Meritorius Artist of Russia award.

 

SANDRA CARLSON
Sandra was a soloist with the Colorado Ballet and is co-founder of the International Ballet School. She has danced as a soloist with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Germany and was principal dancer and ballet mistress for the Western Chamber Ballet. She has danced the roles of Helena in A Mid- summer Night´s Dream, the principal role in The Miraculous Mandarin, Diamond Fairy and Violente Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Meandering in the River, Dark Angel in Serenade as well as soloist roles in The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Coppélia and Stars and Stripes, Rodeo, Western Symphony, Configurations, Giselle, Concerto Barocco. and a Follower in Martha Graham´s Appalachian Spring.

 
DANIELLE SUNSERI
Danielle is from Ohio and studied on scholarship with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School Schenley and Graduate Programs, NCSA, and completed two years in a Dance Major at Mercyhurst College. She danced corps roles with the Colorado Ballet in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Serenade, Stars and Stripes and as ‘The Pioneer Woman’ in their historic staging of Martha Graham’s Appalachian Spring. She performed soloist roles with David Taylor Dance Theater for four seasons and Kim Robards Dance for two seasons. She has taught on several faculties including the School of Ballet Arizona, Pittsburgh Youth Ballet and Academy of Colorado Ballet, and conducted numerous literacy-based dance residencies for children in the Englewood Public Elementary Schools in Colorado.
